Today I made your new blankets for your new beds - you and Emily are moving in together in anticipation of Bittrois' arrival!  When I wrapped the finished blanket around you you started fake crying.  I asked why you were crying and you said, "because I really love it!"  (of course, you still don't have your Ls so it was "weawy wuv it!")

Tonight we went to Long Beach airport to pick up Mimi and Papa for dinner while they were on a layover on the way to San Francisco!  As we were approaching the airport they flew over us and so when we pulled in to the airport I told you and Emily that we would have to drive around in circles until Mimi and Papa made it out.  After our first lap you said, "we aren't driving in circles, Mama, we're driving in squares!"  I was pretty surprised and impressed and asked why you said that.  Your response, "because we are driving straight, turn, straight, turn."  Wow, you were absolutely right.

Today we didn't get to park in our favorite spot to pick Emily up.  As I parked the car you said, "Bummer! Now we have to cross the street.  ...  I say bummer because dammit is a bad word."

You and Emily just came running in to my room upset with each other.  I said that you two should take a break from each other and after a few minutes I asked you what happened.  You told me that you two were playing Memory and that Emily was not speaking kindly to you.  I asked what she said and you told me that she said, "I am still angry with you!"  So, of course I asked you what you had done that made her angry.  Your response… "Umm, I'm not gonna tell you because it was a bad choice."

Today we were talking about going to preschool and what you were going to do there.  I asked you what you were going to do if other boys were making bad choices and you told me, "I'll just keep doing my thing."

You and Emily are asking me to play on your Leap Pads and I've told you no.  I told you two earlier that I was going to be working and that you both needed to find something fun to do.  Once I told you no about the Leap Pads you both whined at me and I said, "go in the playroom and find something to play with.  If you can't find anything in there that you want to play with then I will just sell all of it at the garage sale or give them to little kids that don't have anything to play with.   Then you two will be crying about how you have nothing to play with."  You were standing right next to me (Emily had gone away to find something to do) and you said, "no I won't.  If you give away all of the toys, I will play on my Leap Pad!!"

In the end, thankfully, you did come up with something other than your Leap Pad to play with. ;)

Today I referred to Emily as a Crabopolis because she was being grumpy and crabby.  You were very offended for her and told me, "Don't call her a crabopolis!"  When I asked you what I should call her, you told me, "Emily Rose!"

I just finished singing, "This Land Is Your Land" and you lifted your head off my shoulder to say, "YOU and me?!"  (last line - this land was made for you and me…)  I said, "yes."  Then you said, "I thought it was made for me and Mimi!"  Clearly Mimi has sung you that song more recently.  haha

Today when we were shopping, you saw a fountain that you love to throw coins in.  I only had 4 pennies and once you were finished tossing them we walked back to the car.  Along the way you told me how much you like throwing coins in the fountain and, "you need to buy more coins!"  haha  buy money… I will miss these things you say.

M: And when Everett grows up he wants to be…
E: a sister!
M: You are going to be a sister?  No.  What do you want to do for work when you grow up?
E: I'm gonna work on my computer.
M: Your computer?  What are you going to do on your computer?
E: Watch videos!
M: Oh, are you going to make movies when you grow up?
E: Yes, and all of you are going to come visit me at my work.
M: We are?  Okay, all of us will go visit you.  What will we do there?
E: Eat one of my snacks.
M: (laughing) We are going to eat your snacks?  Okay.
E: And you will go in my elevator to meet me.  You get to push the button (tapping me on the shoulder)

I can't wait, buddy.  Well, I CAN wait.  Don't grow too fast.

Today you wanted to do do the magnet art and chose the rocket.  It is one of the more difficult ones because you have to use the key to know what color magnet to put on each spot.  (On the easier ones the shape is colored to match the magnet that is to be placed on each spot.) 

Daddy went through and asked you what color you would need to put on each shape and you told him without hesitation.  You are so smart, we are continually surprised by you.

I have been meaning to post about your very own curse word.  It is "FINK."  It's also the way you say think but you very clearly use it when you are frustrated or bummed about something.  It makes me laugh and I do love hearing you use all facets of language so well.
Today's example:
You were building a tower when it fell over.  You sighed the first time, but after it fell a second time you said, "Oh, fink! This is not going well!!"

You were just looking for your binky for a little "break time" in your bed but couldn't find it.  You asked me repeatedly where it was and I replied, "I don't know, where did you put it?"  We looked in and around your crib but couldn't find it.  You kept asking, "where did I put it?"  Then, I shook out your sleep sack that you had pulled out in the search and said, "is it in here?"  That's when it fell to the floor and you said, "yes!  There it is!  That's just what I was looking for!"

I was just putting you to bed and you wanted Daddy next.  I reminded you that Daddy is still at work and you said, "no, on the phone.  I just want you to tell him on the phone."

Mama: Okay.
Everett: I have a phone.
Mama: You have a phone?  Where?
Everett: In the playroom
Everett: When I am done with night-night, I will call you.
Mama:  When you are done with night-night you will call me?  (giggle) Okay.
Everett: And when I am done talking... I will hang up!

We were playing around in your room before bed and then you started running and jumping.  You told me, "I am going to jump when I am running!"  I was refilling the wipes container and you started to run across the room and jump toward the end.  After the first two, I turned around and saw you getting dangerously close to the glider and shelving.

Mama: No more, Everett.  You are going to hit your head on something.  That is enough.

Everett: But, Mom!  I will just stop before I get closer!  Watch!  (run, jump, land several feet from the danger zone)  SEE!  Like that!

This afternoon we Skyped with Uncle Ryan, Auntie J, and Liam.  While we were talking, Liam was eating his dinner - macaroni and cheese.  You have mentioned several times since that you want to have macaroni and cheese too.  Just now, as I was putting you to bed, you said, "I want you to buy some macaroni and cheese so I can eat it."  I basically said okay and then you told me, "I will hang out with Dada while you go to the store."  Hang out.  You make me smile.

Today we were leaving Mimi and Papa's house and driving up to Granbury and you kicked the back of my chair in the car.   After I told you not to kick the chair and asked why you did, you answered with a grumpiness… "I just miss somebody!" I followed with, "Who?" and you said, "Mimi and Papa!"  At least you knew why you were grumpy!!

This morning when I went to get you out of your crib it was clear that you needed a new diaper.  I totally cracked up though when you said on your own (and with much gusto)… "I hope Nana and Grandpa have a changing table!"

Today we were driving around a lot (all over Granbury) and as we were finally getting close to returning to Nana and Grandpa's house you asked if we were almost there.  After I responded, you exclaimed to Emily, "Hooray! She said yes!!"

Today you told me… "When I grow up I am gonna be big big big!"  Then you continued on to say, "when you grow up you will be Nana.  And when Daddy' grows up he will be Grandpa.  And when this house grows up it will be Nana and Grandpa's house."

I was unsure what you were going to say because I thought I would have to break it to you that I am not getting any bigger but your train of thought amazed me.

Today you were upstairs playing and after a while you started calling out to Emily who was downstairs.  "Emily…do you want to play with me?!"  "Do you want to play with me?"  Emily didn't answer after you had called down a few times so then you said, "Hey! Hey girl!  Do you want to play with me, girl?!"  It made me laugh and I asked you why you were referring to Emily as girl?  Your response, "because she is a girl!"  End of discussion.  :)

Tonight I was reading you Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer and after I read this page, you stopped me.

You said, "FIND Santa, not see Santa!"  And you were right.  As I was reading, I glanced up at the picture and said "he went to see Santa."  I knew when I looked back to the words that it wasn't the correct word but it didn't change the story so I didn't correct myself.  I had to laugh and tell you that you were right.  I can't believe you know the book so well that you caught that one little word!
